Mrs. Awurabena Okrah is a visionary garment and textile designer, entrepreneur, and the pioneering founder of Winglow Clothes and Textiles and Winglow Fashion Academy. With over four decades of experience in the fashion and garment manufacturing sector, she has dedicated her career to redefining the boundaries of sustainable fashion and regional craftsmanship while promoting African culture.
Under her leadership, Winglow transformed from a boutique local atelier into a highly respected brand celebrated for its commitment to ethical supply chains and circular design principles. Her signature approach blends traditional, time-honoured design with in-house digitised embroidery and modern manufacturing efficiency, preserving local heritage while scaling production for contemporary global markets.
A passionate advocate for business and environmental stewardship, she spearheaded the brand's shift toward ISO 9001-15 Quality Management certification and zero-waste pattern-making. Her groundbreaking work reducing fashion apprenticeship from three years to monthly modules has earned numerous local and regional awards, establishing Winglow as a blueprint for sustainable economic empowerment within the textile and fashion training industry.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Mrs. Okrah frequently collaborates with industry trade councils to mentor emerging designers. She has chaired boards and serves on others, including AGI, CIMG, INGH and ITFP-GH. She graduated from the Universities of Ghana, Legon and Cape Coast.
